INDIAN SCHOOL, RAS AL KHAIMAH was established by a group of highly motivated educational enthusiasts; with one primary aim; to provide a high standard of quality education to children. Today, many years later, Indian SchoolRas Al Khaimah continues to deliver a congenial atmosphere, ensuring a fertile ground for the happy development and growth of every child.

History

Indian School Ras Al Khaimah founded in 1977, is a Modern English Medium School. It is managed by the Indian Association, Ras Al Khaimah. It was officially inaugurated on 5th November 1981 by H.H. Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, in the presence of H.E. Shri Lalit Mansingh, the then Ambassador of India to the United Arab Emirates.

Indian School has grown from its humble origins to a now well established and highly respected educational institution. Its journey started with offering a limited number of classes in pre-primary and primary levels, all in line with modern educational methodology. After years of continuous achievements and educational success, it now offers the CBSE Curriculum, which follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, and is widely recognized as one of the finest educational systems in India.

Scheme of Education

  • The school follows the curriculum conforming to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The medium of instruction is English, and other languages taught at present are Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Urdu, and Bengali.
  • Arabic is introduced from UKG and is compulsory till Grade X in accordance with the rules of the Ministry of Education, U.A.E. Those who opt for Unified Examination in Arabic in Grades XI and XII may study the language privately, but exams will be conducted by the school. Islamic Studies is offered to Muslim students and Value Education to students of other communities.

Stage of Study

  • Kindergarten: LKG and UKG spread over two years. Introduce the tiny tots to the world of letters, numbers, colour, and music, making learning a pleasant experience. Even children who come from a non-English background become proficient in English conversation, numbers, and letters.
  • Classes I to X: During these ten years, the students get a comprehensive foundation course. At the end of this stage, even those who come from varied backgrounds following a diverse syllabus are ready for the CBSE Secondary School course.
  • ClassesXI&XII: The school offers Senior School Certificate Course in science and commerce streams conforming to the curriculum set by CBSE, New Delhi. Optional subjects are Mathematics/ Biology/ ComputerScience/ Physical Education. Successful candidates pursue their higher studies in India or abroad.
